Even if you have used all the tips, tricks and tools to optimize your website, still the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

With whichloadsfaster you compare the performance of two websites in your browser which is probably the most realistic test there is. In practice the performance you will experience depends on your browser, your location and your internet connection. With another device / browser / internet connection the measured performance is probably totally different.

Note that this is a clone of the currently broken website http://whichloadsfaster.com. Besides the hosting at ZOMDir.com a little update of some texts, including this one, force using of the https protocol and the rounding of the times at 100ms virtual nothing has changed ...

Kudos to Ryan Witt, the original creator of whichloadsfaster.

Be aware that this version of whichloadsfaster only accepts url which starts with HTTPS. Besides that note that the accuracy of this tool is 100ms. Due to the variance in the performance of this site claiming a better accuracy isn't realistic.

whichloadsfaster is a fun way to spread the word that web performance matters. It's about friendly competition and about testing in everybody's browser, not just ones that have nice performance tools already.

How?

whichloadsfaster is open source, written in HTML and JavaScript and runs entirely on the client-side. You can host the files on your own site and tweak them to suit your own nefarious plans. We promise not to tell.

Who?

whichloadsfaster was conceived and written by Ryan Witt and supported by his employer, FastSoft Inc (in 2012 acquired by Akamai).

Questions, bug reports and ideas happen on the mailing list.

Where?

This version of whichloadsfaster is hosted at a subweb of ZOMDir.com, because I (Hans) used this tool so often, that I missed it when it disappeared in september 2014.
